Hawaii is the ultimate paradise. Families, adventurers, and honeymooners can all fill their plates here. It really has amazing experiences for everyone. Maui is the third island we have visited and it certainly did not disappoint.
Here’s a lineup of our recent gluten-free dining experiences on Maui.
I usually eat my own breakfast in the room while the hubs dines on whatever great breakfast spread the conference offers. See more about my planning for gluten-free travel. I pack a lunch if we are on the go or at the pool. But…. oh how I love a sunset dinner by the ocean. Paradise. Truly breathtaking.
Maui has a TON of restaurants. Way more options than Kauai or the Big Island. We could literally walk to five restaurants with gluten-free menus from our hotel, the Hyatt Regency on Kaanapali Beach. To compare, on the Big Island we had to drive 30 minutes to find one. Typically the nicer, more expensive restaurants can accommodate allergens easier. Better trained chefs = USUALLY more knowledge of safety in prep and execution. In my experience this is true with hotel lines like Hyatt, Fairmont, Westin, Marriott. They are usually more accommodating with special requests.
Here’s the line-up of our dining experiences Maui:
- Leilani’s on the Beach – West Maui
- Gluten-Free at Merriman’s Kapalua – West Maui
- Mama’s Fish House – Maui – North Shore
- Maui’s Sugar Shop Bakery – West Maui
- Ocean Vodka – Maui Upcountry
- Hyatt Regency Kaanapali Beach – West Maui
